When I first started the **Life Moments Collection**, the idea was pretty simple.
Take those big moments in life—the ones that actually matter—and treat them like achievements in a game.
Found your person?
**Achievement Unlocked: Found My Player Two.**
Became a parent?
Achievement unlocked.
Watched your kid grow up and head off on their own?
Achievement unlocked.
It was supposed to be a small collection.
You may already see where this is going.
Because once I started thinking about life as a series of achievements, I realized there are a LOT of them.
And apparently I had opinions.
So the Life Moments Collection has gotten considerably bigger.
There are mugs for becoming a parent and discovering that whoever designed this particular character class forgot to include the tutorial.
There are mugs for grandparents, who already completed the parenting campaign and have now unlocked the significantly more entertaining expansion pack where you get to spoil the smaller party members and then send them home.
There are mugs celebrating the arrival of those tiny new party members.
And, because anyone who has ever lived with one knows the truth, there are mugs recognizing that babies and toddlers are basically boss encounters.
Small stature.
Absolute authority.
Negotiations remain unsuccessful.
We also added milestones for the other end of parenting.
The tutorial eventually ends.
The map gets bigger.
Your kids begin choosing quests of their own.
And somehow the person who once needed you to explain why pants are required in public is now out there making adult decisions.
Which seems poorly supervised, but here we are.
But the collection isn't just about parents and grandparents.
It's about relationships. Shared history. New beginnings. Finishing one chapter and realizing there's another one waiting.
Because life doesn't really give us achievement notifications.
There isn't a little box that pops up in the corner of your vision when you survive something difficult.
Nobody plays triumphant music when you finally figure out what you're doing.
And there is definitely no XP bar reassuring you that all of this nonsense is eventually going to level you up.
Which feels like an oversight.
So we're fixing it.
The expanded **Life Moments Collection** celebrates the victories that don't come with trophies.
Finding your Player Two.
Growing your party.
Surviving the tiny boss encounters.
Watching your kids finish the tutorial.
Starting the next quest.
Looking over at someone who has been beside you for years and realizing just how much shared history the two of you have accumulated.
Some achievements are funny.
Some are sentimental.
Most are probably a little bit of both.
Because that's life.
And if we're going to keep collecting XP anyway, I think we should at least get a mug out of it.
