You know that moment when someone casually mentions something you love, and you have to decide whether to respond like a normal person or explain the entire history, mechanics, and associated lore?
Yeah. Me too.
Which brings us to About to Nerd Out, the newest collection at Mugs of Achievement. Because apparently, my hobbies needed mugs, and I needed another excuse to make them. Everybody wins. Except possibly the cupboard.
This collection celebrates the things we get a little carried away with. Building something brick by brick. Taking “one more turn” in a game when we really should have gone to bed three turns ago. Setting up game night with enough care and preparation that you would think visiting dignitaries were coming.
They aren’t. It’s our friends. They brought chips.
A few of the new mugs:
Building My Bricks — For those of us who find sorting tiny pieces and following a very large instruction book relaxing. Right up until a piece goes missing and the entire household becomes a search party.
Taking One More Turn — A perfectly reasonable statement that has never, in the history of gaming, meant just one more turn. Suddenly, the birds are chirping, and you have some decisions to make about breakfast.
Setting Up Game Night — Because someone has to arrange the board, organize the pieces, and explain the rules. Then explain them again when the person who was checking their phone asks what we’re doing.
Each mug pairs the About to Nerd Out announcement with its own illustrated hobby moment. Consider it fair warning for anyone who asks, “So, what are you into?”
They did ask. That part is on them.
There are ten mugs in the collection, because stopping at nine would have bothered me. I have standards. Some of them are admittedly peculiar, but they are standards.
So, if you have a hobby that eats up your spare time, takes over a table, or causes your family’s eyes to glaze over when you start explaining it, come have a look. You might find your mug. You might also find one for the person who insists they don’t need another mug.
I’m familiar with that person. They’re usually holding a mug while saying it.

The collection is complete. For now. Please don’t make me define “for now.”
Life is a game. Get the mug.
